His Mind

In Him we have our fellowship
Affections of the heart
Like-mindedness and equal love
Rare treasures to impart.

Let each esteem his fellowman
Much better than one’s self
Do nothing through vainglory, strife
These things taught Christ Himself.

So let this mind be found in you
Which also was in Christ
In Whom is consolation, love;
His life He sacrificed.

Jesus Christ, Who in the form
Of God, His Equal, He
Laid down His life for sinful men
And died to set us free.

This Christ, Who took a servant’s form
In likeness of all men;
Became obedient unto death
And died for all, Amen!

His cruel death upon the cross
Appeared to be His end
But God exalted Him and showed
His mercy to us, friend.

Exalted Head, much higher He;
His name above all others
That at the mention of His name
Our fathers and our mothers…

And every knee should bow to Him
And every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ alone is Lord;
Our love to Him express.

So let His mind be found in you
Before Him humbly bow
Confess Him as your Lord today
He waits for you just now.
