Bow the Knee

God exalted Joseph
Made him second in command
They cried before him, “Bow the knee”
He ruled o’er all the land.

His brothers came and bowed the knee
Did not know who he was
His childhood dreams were now fulfilled
For him, God had a cause.

Every knee should bow to me
And every tongue, confess
These are the words of Jesus Christ
The humble, He will bless.

The stubborn man who will not bow
Too soon, will meet his fate
Before the LORD, he shall bow down
Alas, when it’s too late.

Regarding Joseph
Genesis 41:43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Regarding Jesus
Philippians 2: 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
