I Was Alone

I was alone and had no hope
I did not know the Lord
I searched and searched but could not find
The Gospel; I ignored…

The One Who died that I might live
I felt so all alone
One night, I thought, “Just who am I?”
And all my hope was gone.

Jesus, will you please come in?
I prayed with all my heart
Immediately, He came to me
Gave me a whole new start.

And since that time, I’m not alone
Nor will I ever be
He promised, He would never leave
Nor ever forsake me.

My loneliness is over now
For Christ in me abides
He’s never once forsaken me
My every step, He guides.
