The Pharisees took counsel many
times against the Lord
Attempting to entangle Him;
as Matthew did record.
What thinkest thou? they questioned Him.
Now, is it lawful to…
Give tribute unto Caesar? Oh
Please, tell us what is due?
But He perceived their wickedness
and called them hypocrites
Whose image does the penny bear?
Why tempt me? He submits.
They tell Him Caesar’s… then He says,
So, give him what is his;
But render unto God, His things!
And that’s the way it is.
